Located amidst magnificent forests in the extreme end of Southwest Uganda, across the steep escarpments of the western rift valley, Bwindi is the only park in the world which is famous for harbouring half of the world’s endangered gorillas. There are now only 650 left in the world! It is worthwhile for you to encounter one group of habituated gorillas believed to be the origin of mankind; the hottest attraction in Uganda today!
The forest is also a habitat for over 90 species of mammals, other primates and 346 species of bird life of which 90% of Albertine rift endemic to East Africa.
Evening performances by local communities around Buhoma are worthwhile to see or a cultural village walk to meet and interact with the local communities is an optional activity to be done. If you prefer, you can relax amidst the African jungle.

The visitors have a choice of accommodation stay: at Gorilla Forest Camp, Bwindi Resort and Volcanoes (High end/luxurious accommodation), Buhoma Homestead, Mantana tented camp, Lake Kitandara Tents (Medium class accommodation and Buhoma Local Community Association (Low budget/basic accommodation t) offer travellers comfortable style of African accommodation.

DAY 1
The safari begins and ends from Kampala or Entebbe Our guide/driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. from your hotel or residence. Drive to Mbarara (283km from Kampala) via Masaka. Make a first stop over at Equator Crossing for snacks and photography. Lunch break is made at the Regency Hotel or Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi. This is the lushest highland rainforest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Dinner and overnight at either Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda Safari Lodge/ Mantana Tented Camp (High end/luxurious accommodation), Lake Kitandara’s Tented Camp/ Buhoma Homestead (Medium class accommodation) or the Community Bandas (Low budget/basic accommodation).

DAY 2
Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. Dinner and over night at either Gorilla Forest Camp Uganda safari lodge/ Mantana Tented Camp (High end/luxurious accommodation), or Lake Kitandara’s Tented Camp/ Buhoma Homestead (Medium class accommodation) or the Community Bandas (Low budget/basic accommodation).

DAY 3
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch enroute and stop over at Equator Uganda before your evening departures home. End of safari. “We highly recommend clients to participate in our 3 day gorilla express active safari; as the money you pay is used for conserving the endangered primates and to support the local communities surrounding the park”. The safari package to include:< Transportation by a 4wd vehicle Full board accommodation One Gorilla permit per person to be secured and paid for well in advance Park fees Full time Driver/guide. Enroute lunches Airport transfers. The package excludes expenses of personal nature like: Visa, drinks, laundry, tips to local guides, telephone, porter fee while trekking, personal insurance, and tobacco.
